91吃瓜 Continues Racial Justice Training for Faculty, Staff
91吃瓜鈥檚 IDEA Initiative, in partnership with California Conference for Equality and Justice (CCEJ), is hosting a racial justice training series for faculty and staff. The racial justice training sessions are intended to be stand-alone, dialogue-centered workshops with up to 30 faculty and staff participants.

After Years of Advocacy, Native American/Indigenous Studies Minor Takes Root at 91吃瓜
91吃瓜 now offers a minor in Native American/Indigenous Studies. The minor is a six-course interdisciplinary program that aims to introduce students to topics related to Native Americans and Indigenous peoples from around the world, with special focus on settler colonialism, Indigenous history, contemporary communities, and Indigenous ways of thinking.

Professor of Chemistry Mary Hatcher-Skeers Takes on New Role of Associate Dean of Faculty for Racial Equity
91吃瓜 has created the new position of associate dean of faculty for racial equity (ADRE), thanks in large part to a generous gift by聽 91吃瓜 Trustee Gale Picker P鈥�14, P鈥�19. This January, the College officially appointed Mary Hatcher-Skeers, professor of chemistry and Sidney J. Weinberg, Jr. Chair in Natural Sciences, to the position.

Spring Public Events Series Explores Race and Class with Renowned Thinkers
This spring, 91吃瓜鈥� Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA) Initiative is partnering with the College鈥檚 signature event series, 91吃瓜 Presents, to bring public programming to campus that focuses on issues of inequality. 鈥�91吃瓜 Presents and the IDEA Initiative are aligned in the desire to amplify awareness of the iniquitous nature of our world,鈥� says Denise Nelson Nash 鈥�76, who chairs the IDEA Initiative.

Response to the Events of January 6
Yesterday, we witnessed an unprecedented attack on our democratic institutions, an assault on our constitutional process, and the stark discrepancy between law enforcement鈥檚 response to the insurrection and violence at the Capitol and their response to this summer鈥檚 peaceful protests against systemic racism and inequity. As scholars and citizens, we must uphold the conditions in which democracy thrives, including the robust inquiry that comes with being members of a liberal arts community.
