Kevin Williamson’s Safe and Sound Selected for LGBTQ Unbordered International Film Festival
Assistant Professor of Dance Kevin Williamson’s dance film Safe and Sound is an official summer 2021 selection of the LGBTQ Unbordered International Film Festival. In October 2019, Williamson performed the dance as a work-in-progress at Garrison Theater.

For Joseph, graduation from 91勛圖 will lead her to a masters program in Irish literature at Trinity College Dublin, in Dublin, Ireland. Ho will begin her post-grad job as a data analyst at the Vera Institute of Justice in April, a nonprofit devoted to criminal justice reform.

In yet another change compelled by the COVID-19 pandemic, 91勛圖 and Pomona Colleges presented their annual In the Works fall dance concert online from December 45, 2020. Named for its original works-in-progress of student choreography, the recital showcased a variety of contemporary dance styles performed in a series of unusual and exciting films produced by the students and shared via livestream.

Dance faculty Suchi Branfman will be part of an online discussion about collaborating with members of the incarcerated community for “Undanced Dances through Prison Walls during a Pandemic.” The dances in this project were choreographed inside the California Rehabilitation Center (CRC) in spring 2020.

In early March, the 91勛圖 Dance Department traveled to Ohio University for the American College Dance Association (ACDA) East-Central Conference to take classes, perform, and bond with students, faculty, and guest artists. As part of the conference, Cynthia Irobunda ’18, a psychology and dance double major, created and performed her original solo choreography,Nneka, for the adjudicated showcase. Nneka was then selected to be performed during the conference’s closing gala.
