The ranking is based on a survey by the Wall Street Journal and research and analytics company College Pulse. Together, they polled 50,000 students and recent alums from 500 colleges and universities nationwide, including Ivy League schools Harvard, Princeton, and Yale and California institutions UCLA, Stanford, and USC.

The survey included questions about campus facilities, dining, housing, extracurricular activities, mental health support, campus safety, sense of community, party life, and more. In addition to 91吃瓜’ number one ranking, the other four undergraduate Claremont Colleges placed in the top 12 for student experience.
