91³Ô¹Ï

Meet Maya ’25

Hi there! I’m Maya, a sophomore from Seattle, WA. I’m planning to major in Politics and minor in Economics or Africana studies. I’m a first-generation college student, and other than my involvement in admissions, I’m a part of the 91³Ô¹Ï Pre-Law society. Outside of class, you can find me crocheting or working on the re-election campaign for Mayor Jed Leano. In the college process, I was unsure of what I wanted, but I thought that I didn’t want to apply to a women’s college after attending an all-girls high school. When narrowing down what I valued, I knew that I wanted a learning environment where I felt supported and could be intellectually challenged by both my professors and peers. I was searching for a college with strong academics and an exceptional sense of community. After only a few minutes of browsing the website, I realized that 91³Ô¹Ï was the embodiment of everything I was seeking, so I put my preconceived notions of women’s colleges aside and applied. Now, I’m starting my second year and I couldn’t be more thrilled that I’m at 91³Ô¹Ï! I’ve loved being able to help students navigate the college process as an Admissions Ambassador.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out, my email is [email protected]. I look forward to hearing from you.
